The Vall Companys Group is a leading and solid group in the agri-food sector with a professional career that began in 1956. The family character of the group brands a business orientation based on progressive growth, supported by a professional and highly involved team, as well as a policy of reinvestment of profits. The activities of the more than 40 group companies consist of flour plants, feed factories, meat production centers, pig, poultry and beef slaughterhouses, own pharmaceutical laboratories specialized in animal health, insemination centers, incubators and a company of logistics.

The Department of I.T. is centralized in Lleida and provides service to all the Group companies.

IT services include all kinds of activities necessary for the service to an industrial company that has a turnover of around € 1,700 million and more than 3000 workers.

They are carried out from tasks related to corporate ERP (Microsoft's Axapta, programming / consulting), through the creation of APP's, studies of AI algorithms applied to production processes, to those related to systems and communications and to insdustrial devices.

Activities

The tasks carried out by the student within the company will be evaluated and recognized for a total of 24 ECTS credits. The specialty that will be recognized to the student within the dual training program is the "Enterprise Integrated Projects".

Eurecat is interested in the completion of the TFM by the student in the company.

Description of tasks and professional profile developed by the student / worker

Within the context of creating a Data Lake from which to report and analyze group data, the person who joins will carry out a period of adaptation / training with the current IT team, both in terms of business terminology concepts, current data models, tools to be used, etc., after which, its main functions will be to collaborate with the current team in:

• Maintenance of the current Data Lake: Homogenize information, creation of filters, definition of Date Governance policies (visibility by areas, roles, security ...), inclusion of more sources or necessary information, discretization of continuous data, clustering, others ...
• Reporting with tools like Power BI.
• Productive process improvement studies applying AI algorithms.
• Use of databases (query programming, performance improvements, structure definition ...)

Time

From 8:00 or 9:00 to 13:00 or 14:00 (flexible, class period).

From 8:00 or 9:00  (1 hour for lunch) to 13:00 or 14:00 and 14:00 or 15:00 to 17:00 or 18:00 (flexible, non-class period).

* You can start hiring in the month of September if you wish. The duration of the internship contract can be extended up to a maximum of 2 years.
